WPA of Kansas: Physical Accomplishments to December 1937

Document illustrating infrastructure project accomplishments in Kansas under the Works Progress Administration through December 1937. Accomplishments include 1352 thousand square yards of new sidewalks, 3051 new bridges, and thousands of miles of newly graded roads. More than 14,588 people per month worked 25 months on such projects.

Country Club Plaza Triangle Building

The first unit of Country Club Plaza Triangle Building under construction. This picture was taken looking north-northwest at the intersection of 47th Street and Wyandotte Street.

Country Club Plaza Theater Construction

Construction of the Country Club Plaza Theater began on March 2, 1928. The site bounded by 47th Street and the Alameda Road (now Nichols Road), Wyandotte Street, and a new street to be put through on the west (Central Street). This vantage point faces northeast towards the intersection of 47th Street and Wyandotte Street.
