Caffrey was attempting to transport Frank Nash in this vehicle when Vernon C. Miller, Adam C. Richetti, and Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd opened fire on them, killing Caffrey, Nash, Kansas City Police Officers W. J. Grooms and Frank Hermanson, and Oklahoma Police Chief Otto Reed.
