FFA Boy Preparing Paint

Description: 

Photograph of Dan Porterfield, a Future Farmers of America participant, preparing paint outside Shawnee Mission Rural High School in 1940 or 1941. Wearing a shirt with "Dan" embroidered over a breast pocket, he is unscrewing the cap from a can of Taloco Gum turpentine over a large paint bucket. A can of Dutch Boy linseed oil sits on the platform next to the paint bucket. Stacks of Spanish-style roof tiles stand in stacks again the school building in the background of the image alongside other equipment. The photograph is part of the 1940-1941 Future Farmers of America "Community Service" scrapbook.
