Kennamer, "has a personal bias or prejudice against him, and has a personal bias and prejudice in favor of ... the United States of America," and that additional information utside the bounds of the case has been communicated to the judge by "persons connected with the United States Government" and "has formed an adverse opinion as to [DeMayo's] innocence." The document also alleges that Kennamer has indicated that he believes "a bootlegger [is] the same as a murderer."
