Kelsey Carls is a PhD student and instructor in the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. She holds an MA in English Literature from the University of Colorado Denver. Carls studies the histories of feminist social movements and activism, and the ways contemporary feminists construct their identity in relation to these shared pasts. Her work also explores the role of memory in shaping feminist collectives, particularly in the digital age. In the spring of 2019, she was awarded an Applied Humanities Summer Fellowship at the Kansas City Public Library through the Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas.
